Week of November 17-21

Mardi Gras

Bonjour Charlemagne Families!

Thank you to everyone who joined us this past Friday for our meaningful Ruby Bridges Walk. Your participation made the event a resounding success and visibly demonstrated to our students the power of collective action in celebrating the courage of people who make a difference.

Beyond this commemorative event, we want to reiterate our profound and ongoing commitment to building and maintaining an equitable and inclusive learning community for ALL of our students. As public school stewards, fostering an environment where every child feels safe, seen, and supported to reach their full potential is the core of our daily work.

Thank you for partnering with us in this vital mission.

Bon weekend!

Poppy

Read-a-Thon is coming!

Turn your student's holiday reading into an opportunity to raise money for our school during the fall Read-a-Thon.

Packets went home on Friday and will be collected when students return back to school from Thanksgiving break, December 1st -5th.

Lost and Found

The clothes pile up!

Please take some time to search through the clothes left on the fence outside the main doors.

We will donate any leftover items on November 21 as part of our Winter Warmth Drive donations this year.

Please consider labeling ALL items that come to school. It helps to ensure we can find their owners before we donate them.
Winter Warmth Drive

Winter Warmth Drive

Monday starts our month-long winter warmth drive. Please consider donating any used warm clothing: coats, pants, glove, hats, scarves that you may have. New wool socks are always needed.

On November 21 our 5th grade team will gather all donations and prepare them fo be picked up. Any leftover clothing in the lost and found will also be sent along.

Your donations make a huge difference to those in need as the weather gets colder and wetter.

Thank you!

Scholastic book fair

Book Fair

Book Fair! - Our Scholastic English book fair will be open after school and during conferences November 17th through 24th. The fair is in room 7 at the end of the K/3 hallway. Come by and find books for your child and their teacher. All proceeds will support our library.

What is The Sunflower and Dandelion Crew?

We have created a new group for some Charlemagne students. The group is The Sunflower and Dandelion Crew. The group will begin meeting the third Tuesday of every month, starting November 18th.

The Sunflower and Dandelion Crew is a safe and welcoming space for students with disabilities and those who identify as neurodivergent to come together, build friendships, and celebrate their unique abilities. Through games, crafts, and conversations, students connect with one another and are reminded that families are made in many wonderful ways.

Our time together focuses on belonging, confidence, and connection. Students explore themes like identity, friendship, and pride in who they are—all while having fun and supporting one another.

If your child has a disability or identifies as neurodivergent and would like to join The Sunflower and Dandelion Crew, please fill out the permission form linked here or more information you can reach out to Mme Lillian at groff_l@4j.lane.edu. We’d love to have them join our circle of connection and celebration!
